What’s Going on with Me…

Our school…current inspirational message…

One of the many things I enjoy about where we live are the easy access

to different places to walk, picnic, have a spur of the moment adventure!

At every turn is a postcard pretty view…

VERY unusual – a fire in the fireplace June 13.

Living in the Mountains is Different

Two loads of firewood like this delivered in the spring

 I don’t know what this is –

came across it on a hike and I thought it was picture worthy

The sky was interesting, as the weather was changing before our eyes

Our beautiful nature trail is right out our garden gate

Our routine is to sit by the river each evening

This a lovely way to unwind from the day

The river is on our nature trail – below our home

We have seen moose and deer here

Husband’s tasty salmon and vegetables

The fish has a crispy cheese covering

We are always delighted with Crystal Peak’s colorful sunsets

My husband makes us fresh bread regularly

I hadn’t had French toast in a long time

My favorite way to enjoy French toast is with powder sugar

and fresh blueberries and strawberries

Delicious salad and bread stuffed with spinach, cheese and peppers for dinner

Wii bowling is most satisfying when we both play well

 A tie!

Earth Day

Living in the mountains, it seems that every day is Earth Day. We like the scent of fresh air on our dried clothes.

Daily walks on our nature trail beats driving to the gym for a workout or driving to a park to walk.

Springtime in the Rockies is a Metaphor for Life:

Toasty Warm Sapphire Sky Days Mixed with Single Digit Biting Winds

Cobalt sky and 8 this calm morning. We crunch frozen snow on our mountain nature trail before the sunshine bathes our valley. The serenity covers me like a cozy quilt.

A 21st Century Saturday

21st century grandparents – we are about 21 hours, 1,568 miles apart from our son and his family. I take a picture via our zoom connection as our son is helping his daughter read the book I just sent. She wears the T-shirt her brother has outgrown; from before she was born when they visited my brother in Louisiana.

A famous study by Harvard Medical School has been following female nurses’ health for decades. The study has found that the more friends these women have, the less likely they have been to develop physical impairments as they age.

What Makes You Happy

IMG_9779

My sweet husband did this when he and Hope (border collie) went on an early walk and I saw it later walking with Hope and Joy (sheltie) – it just makes me smile – makes my heart smile – a love note in the snow – takes a moment – means so much…

Our son texted asking if we wanted to zoom…so thoughtful.

Mountain Magic

Rainbow Clouds

IMG_9587

Nature almost always plays a part in a really good day for me. This morning’s walk on our nature trail included a rainbow cloud. It is a fairly rare phenomenon. It’s a little miracle to me that I was in the right place at the right time to get to see this.
