A Big Impression
With both Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary of D-day approaching, this remembrance is paramount.
Angoville-au-Plain is a tiny village in the Normandy region of northwestern France where I was fortunate to visit in April 2024.

Advent wreaths are circular, representing God’s infinite love, and are usually made of evergreen leaves, which “represent the hope of eternal life brought by Jesus Christ”.
Each element is symbolic of aspects of the Christmas story and our faith.
Life is quite the trip…I finally got a blog post out after 6 months because the last 6 months had been too sad…we can’t compare our journey to anyone else’s but there is grace, smiles, beauty in nature, accomplishments with our work and meaningful connections to make with people and canine companions!
The winter of 2025 was way beyond harsh.
Life is short – fragile – uncertain –
Studies have shown that losing a dog is as hard as losing a human loved one. This winter – both.
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawaken.”
Feeling so content and blessed in front of the fire my love made watching the early morning sky turn baby blanket pink and blue sipping hot hazelnut coffee from my purple cup and petting Hope our border collie – passing this contentment onward

I enjoyed a slow-moving morning with my book and coffee in front of the fireplace watching the colorful sunrise
What fun when my book is so good I don’t want to put it down AND I have the time to do just that!
I want my children and my grandchildren to live in a world with clean air, pure drinking water, and an abundance of wildlife, so I’ve chosen to dedicate my life to wildlife conservation so I can make the world just a little bit better.

There are so many beautiful nearby hikes.
I appreciate that we can easily make a change to our daily
and weekly routine with an early morning hike and sometimes
a picnic as well.
We enjoy living in the mountains!
Hiking makes me feel so alive!

VERY unusual – a fire in the fireplace June 13.

I don’t know what this is –
came across it on a hike and I thought it was picture worthy
The sky was interesting, as the weather was changing before our eyes
Our beautiful nature trail is right out our garden gate
Our routine is to sit by the river each evening
This a lovely way to unwind from the day
The river is on our nature trail – below our home
We have seen moose and deer here
Husband’s tasty salmon and vegetables
The fish has a crispy cheese covering
We are always delighted with Crystal Peak’s colorful sunsets
My husband makes us fresh bread regularly
I hadn’t had French toast in a long time
My favorite way to enjoy French toast is with powder sugar
and fresh blueberries and strawberries
Delicious salad and bread stuffed with spinach, cheese and peppers for dinner
Wii bowling is most satisfying when we both play well
A tie!
