My husband and I married on August 20, 1977.
Over the decades people have asked us what’s the secret…
This poster was in the airport when we arrived in Venice, Italy.
It was October 2019. We had no idea of what was around the corner…
The pandemic – Covid has been life changing worldwide
Yet we were getting correct, scientific information
from the World Health Organization and Dr. Anthony Fauci
Think of generations like my husband’s parents who endured both the
Great Depression as well as the second World war…
In Paris, France celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary
The Wedding Song was sung at our 1977 wedding:
The Wedding Song
Song by Noel Paul Stookey
He is now to be among you
At the calling of your hearts.
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits here has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is love
There is love
Well a man shall leave his mother
And a woman leave her home
They shall travel on to where the two shall be as one.
As it was in the beginning, is now until the end.
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again.
(And) There is love
There is love
Well then what’s to be the reason for becoming man and wife
Is it love that brings you here, or love that brings you life.
For if loving is the answer then who’s the giving for.
Do you believe in something that you’ve never seen before
There is love
(Oh) There’s love
(Hum)
(Oh) The marriage of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love
(Ah) There’s love
Celebrating life in Italy October 2019
Waht a gift…
Bruce and I have been together since I was 17 & he was 20…
In Hallstatt, Austria 2022 celebrating life
Having our marraige blessed…
The couple standing with us is celebrating their 50th
Bruce and I remain legally, emotionally and spiritually wed
The Judds wrote:
Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good ol’ days
Sometimes it feels like this worlds gone crazy
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn’t seem so hazy
Did lovers really fall in love to stay?
And stand beside each other come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say?
Did families really bow their heads to pray?
Did daddies really never go away?
Celebrating life…
Just a bit earlier today we 60 somethings hiked near our home
Having each other to live life with is an amazing gift
we celebrate…
My love brought me these flowers…
In 1977 I was 20 and Bruce was 23.
In a church filled with flowers picked out by my mother
we legally, emotionally and spiritually we became husband and wife.
This morning August 20, 2023 my husband of 46 years presented me with a beautiful bouquet of mountain wildflowers.
What’s our secret to staying together?
We want to.
