A Day in May
My Husband’s Birthday & Mother’s Day

We celebrate with hike up in the mountains!
Hiking makes me feel so alive!
Each trail is different. The same trail is different in each season.
The older we get – the harder it gets – but we don’t want to stop!
Doing hard things keeps us living life to the fullest.
Doing what is easiest would be existing in that space where hopes and dreams die.
And so
I live at 9,000 ft. in the most remote county in the lower 48 states
I am a writer working on a book filled with hard things
I am a mom who took two little wild creatures and created two outstanding, thoughtful, independent adults
I am a wife of 47 years in love with my husband and the life we created together
I am a dog owner with more joy, dirt, fun, dog fur, smiles and laughter than without.
I am filled with gratitude.

The wildflowers are starting to come out:
Purple has always been a favorite color of mine and yellow Danny’s…

The earth laughs in flowers – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.” – Lady Bird Johnson.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Fr. Andres gave us moms a blessing and a rose.

Pink roses are often associated with feelings of:
gratitude, admiration, joy, and affection.

We took a picture after Mass for our friend Elisa.
We miss and love you! Get well soon!

Birthday celebrating with cake and candles and both Mother’s Day and birthday
with presents and cards and phone calls and text messages and prayers and kisses
and hugs and love and gratitude…

We watched this movie.
What’s the story…tell the story…the story is what matters.
It’s our life’s stories….

Water dancing and twirling over the rocks
Squirrels, magpies, ducks and geese squeaking and squawking
Splashing, laughing dogs
Lovers touching, smiling

It’s been a full day!
It’s a GOOD tired!
A Day in May
