Packed and Ready

I don’t check any luggage. This was for 2 weeks. After years of trying different types of carryon luggage; this works for me. Husband noted that I’d never been ready so quickly / easily.

This trip has been beyond amazing but I cannot relate to people who are down about going home after traveling. I love where we live.

In the taxi heading to the airport. Awww taxis in Paris – In trying to head off any unpleasant cheating I asked for change at the hotel desk – since one taxi driver had cheated us – taking our cash, claiming he didn’t have change and driving off. I was told the driver should have change and how much the ride would be to the airport. I was watching the charges.

I love visiting Paris but I would want to live here – or in any big city. We are in the thick stop and go of morning traffic, hardly away from our hotel and I notice the fare is already almost the full amount for the ride to the airport – NO! I let him know that I know how much the price is to go to the airport and that the hotel knows who he is / was called. He shuts off the meter.

BE AWARE! I hate this – why can’t people just do the right thing.

Crossing the street while texting –

Two things the states do better than Europe: no paid toilets and coffee!

Our pilot and copilot. I didn’t know it was possible to have a completely smooth flight in the mountains! Thank you ladies.

We are getting closer to home!

 HOME!

HOME!

 HOME!

Our next trip is to Greece – stay tuned

  1. Glad you and your husband had such a nice trip to France. And I also enjoyed seeing your pictures when you got back home. You had a nice picture of your pilots. What airline were you on?

    1. I’m so glad my post gave you joy Tom. Thank you for your views and comments; that means so much.

I don’t think most / any of us middle class families growing up in the 50’s and 60’s went to Europe, or on far away destinations, other than to visit family.

Us traveling to distant places, started with me accompanying Bruce on business trips like San Fransico, Las Vegas, Florida…It’s fun to go, see, do new and different things.

Then we started taking our son and daughter on family trips besides the Colorado family cabin like: Disney World, The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone and then further away to really different places like: Washington DC, Alaska, London England, Hawaii, another trip to Cambridge England…

It was when Bruce and I were looking for an adventure in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary (2017) that we discovered Rick Steves tours. Our first RS tour was to Paris – perfect anniversary celebration. These tours work well for us at this time in our lives.

It’s lovely that so many of my blogposts brought you good memories of traveling with your wife. How did you two get started traveling?
